Position Vacant at Jabiru Community College – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Youth Worker (Identified Position)

Full-time, 6 months probation, 2 Year contract (with possibility to extend). Educational Services Award (above award salary and conditions).

Jabiru Community College (JCC) is based in Zillmere, North Brisbane. We are a small school and learning community that provides education for approximately 80 young people seeking a flexible, caring and holistic approach to learning. Approximately 30-35% of our students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

JCC is looking for a First Nations’ person to join our team, and to help us build a school that is both culturally and trauma responsive. This position will work directly with young people as well as working with the wider staff team and community. You will be supported by and work within our First Nations’ Practice and Connection & Belonging Teams.

Applicants must have:

  • Current Blue Card (authorisation by the Commission for Children & Young People to work with under 18 year olds).
  • Current driver’s licence or working towards a driver’s licence.
